Do you tree what I tree?

Who wants a regular Christmas tree when you can have a Snowman tree! I got a little anxious with this project and put it together a little early. Kurt says I have to put it away until after Thanksgiving... but he's too cute to hide away

Ronan's first steps

Here are some of Ronan's first steps. I'd give him 1 1/2 steps on his own.

"Sleigh Ride"

Coming down from Massey's Meadow
Benjamin was a sorry fellow
When the car began to slide
And he took Rachel for a ride
Off the shoulder,
Past a boulder,
Over bushes,
Through the branches,
Coming to a final stop
As the airbag went "pop"!

We went to T-town last weekend to go hunting. I invited dad to come along since he was up in Billings just a day before. Dad brought a fish he carved as a thank you present to the Lymans that they all loved. I let dad have the first shot since he was visiting. He managed to get 3 shots off on 2 deer, but didn't hit anything. So the night before he left I showed him how it was done. Its my first whitetail (I've only gotten mule deer before).

Zo got to go up to the mountain with his uncles and check on some cows. And Zo got to ride grandma's horses and of course ride the four-wheelers. We all had a good time.

Peace Out

Happy Halloween! Zo and Ronan with their jack-o-latern on the porch.

One of the MANY reasons I hate cold weather!

Our house becomes (even more of) a disaster as soon as the weather gets cooler. Instead of making mud pies outside, they make spiderwebs inside. And they were so excited to show me how they have decorated for Halloween!

Meet my new job

This is Dante. He is 13 months and quite the doll. I finally get to quite cleaning up after truck drivers! I'm thrilled!

Our house!

We're just waiting on bank paperwork to finalize our house! It will still be a couple of weeks before we move in but I thought I better get a picture of the outside while there isn't any snow blocking the view, and relish in the fact that we in North Dakota are still without snow =)

Zo's Snowman

We got lots of snow today (Oct. 8th) and it's still coming down. Zo wanted to make a snowman. Here it is, his first snow man. I bet all you guys down south (Utah, Arizona) are jealous ;-).

fall family pictures

This Picture turned out so cute with Megan Hugging her Mamie (Wes's mom).

Our new family pet, Pollyanna.

Note to self...don't let your daughter miss her nap before pictures.

Good thing we got these done when we did because it started snowing here a few days later.

Bombers

There were two WWII bomber planes in Vernal this week. They are kind of like a traveling museum based in Arizona. I took Emma and Joseph today and they loved it. It seemed so primitive, though. They were only built for fighting; no comforts at all. The insulation on the outside walls were thinner than the quilt on my bed! We could see the guns with the magazines (?) loaded through them. We could also see the bombs on either side of the middle with a 6" walkway between them. Then we stayed and watched them take off. Very smokey and smelly and sputtery. A small commercial jet landed and too off while we were waiting for the bombers to leave. Such a contrast!

Emma is Beautuful

Yesterday Emma announced that she thinks she is the most beautifulest in our family. She came to this conclusion because she has the blondest hair and the bluest eyes. I asked her if anyone with brown hair could be beautiful. She says they could be pretty but not beautiful. Sorry if you're only pretty, but those are the facts from my six year old!

At the Fair

Hailey showed a pig named Princess.

She in no way "acted" like a princess and was the meanest pig in the show ring.

She had to be followed around by "board" people - as Hailey called them.

But Hailey got right in there and did everything she was supposed to - like a pro.

Here is a video of Zo holding a baby crab he caught at the beach in San Diego. You can't tell because the crab is covered in sand, but it was very pretty, black with green spots.

Baby oh Baby

Our little Jelly Bean's photo debut. I got to see the little alien using my uterus as a trampoline, like a mexican jumping bean, it was pretty neat! Kurt's so excited he has these pictures hanging up in his office.

Mom and Dad in Alaska

We had our dream vacation in Ketichan, Alaska thanks to Kurt and Stacy. We enjoyed fishing, eating, 4th of July prade in the rain and a crab boat tour.

I've been so eager to get out and go fishing now that summer has arrived that i took last friday off of work. I wanted to take Zo and Daisy out with me and we were going to hike up to some beaver ponds and fish and have a picnic lunch. Zo fell asleep on the drive out and woke up cranky when we got there. I just figured he was still tired. I loaded him up in the backpack and we set off on a mile hike up to the ponds. Zo complained the whole way there and kept asking to go home. I thought for sure he would perk up when we got there and he could fish and explore. But as soon as we got there, before i could even get my fishing rod put together, he threw up over everything (backpack, fishing rods, himself). So i loaded him back up and we hiked out. When we got back to the car he threw up again, but he was ready for it and managed to get it all on the ground. He threw up at least four more times at home and had a fever that reached 103.5. But it only lasted for 24 hours; by mid Saturday morning he was keeping down toast and juice. By Saturday night he was back to normal. So, one vacation day down for the summer and still no fishing.

I did manage to get Zo to smile for one second before we took off on our hike.

Laramie Cousins

Zo had all of his Laramie cousins over tonight. He loved it.

I helped brand yesterday. There were 6 "calves" that were born last fall. They're in the 5 to 6 hundred pound range. Here is a video of us trying to wrestle one of these "calves" to the ground to brand. Yeah, that is me at the end on my back with my feet in the air.

So I got 3 stitches last night on my face courtesy of an elbow at church ball. That brings the total up to 12 stitches in 5 months. A new personal record! (not all the stitches came from basketball)

Brittany has started running this week with Daisy. We've noticed a big difference in her energy level.
