Potty Training
Shouldn't potty training be easier in the 21st century? Seriously. We have technology to do so many things that were unimaginable just when I was in high school. We have technology so that I can contact you all all over the country ,at whatever time I want so why don't we have technology to put my son's rear end in contact with the toilet seat at the opportune time!
I could post notes all over the house to remind me to remind him. I could set my iPod for reminders of appointments with the toilet. I could ask you all to text me at regularly scheduled intervals so that I would remember to remind him. But I doubt these would work anyway because the 3 year olds have not become any more technologically advanced than they were when I started this adventure with Benjamin 12 years ago.
So instead of succeeding in this project we fail. Yesterday while I was shampooing the carpet in the living room where Joseph had thrown up, he was upstairs falling asleep on my bedroom floor and having an accident during the nap. Today while I'm on the phone for 3 minutes he is on that newly cleaned carpet having another accident (#1 & #2). Tomorrow he'll probably do it on the bedroom floor again because that's where I need to shampoo today. Oh, and the living room again.
I'll never catch up with the pee!!!!

To all my curly girls and boys:
Yes we are a family with lots of curls. I have discovered some great websites on how to care and style naturally curly hair for anyone who is interested.
naturallycurly.com
They talk a lot about the no-'poo method (no shampoo). You can also learn here what type of curls you have which will help you know how to better care for and stlye them. I learned that many people have multiple types of curls on their head. True for me. There's this one spot at the nape of my neck that is just wavy.
ouidad.com
I really like her videos on how to do the "rake and shake" method. Works great!
Also, check out hair plopping or plunking on YouTube. I know, it sound weird. It looks weird too, but I have had really good results. TIP: Don't use terry towels. I use a flat diaper and secure it in the back with a hairband. They say it works best for those with medium to long curls. I like that I don't have to have one big chuck of time to get ready in, which I usually don't. I shower get dressed, put my gel in plop my hair and then I check on the kids. When I have another 10 minutes I come back and finish my hair. Love it! Some times I combine the rake and shake with the plop.
So, curly ones! There's something for everyone. Check it out. Let me know what you tried and if you liked it.
