While the drs and nurses were asking him questions and going over their procedures dad kept cracking jokes. He wants to know if the tooth fairy is going to pay him for all of these teeth he is going to lose. The dr says if she does he will split it with dad. He made sure they all know he is allergic to penicillin and oatmeal. He expressed his concern about the skin graft they are going to take from his arm. He is worried about them getting some hair in his mouth. The doctor said that is a very real concern and if it happens he suggests laser treatments. They asked about any previous surgeries he has had. He told them rotator cuff and umbilical cord. Mom, Sarah, and I were all in tears laughing at that. The nurse was trying not to crack up and says, "umbilical cord, yea, that's one that we've all had." then dad realized what he had said but he meant umbilical hernia!


It is an eight hour surgery. They will update us every two hours.
